Test Page

Okay – what do you think?

http://www.jennyrough.com/clips-test.html

The above link is a “test” page for my web site, not officially “live” yet, but since you’re my bloggy readers you get to view it first. I still need to fix some missing pictures and links. And there are some typos and spacing issues to work out, but it’s much more festive with the magazine covers, don’t ya think? I especially love the
Whole Life Times covers (“They’re so striking,” says my hubby).

It’s hard to figure out the best way to make a clips page user-friendly.

I’ve been studying other writers' web sites like crazy.

Susan inspired me to categorize articles by topic instead of my old method – categorized by article type.

These two writers –
Vince Beiser and Meghan Daum – inspired me to select a sample of my work instead of posting everything.

Jessica Ridenour and Ask Allison and Gretchen Roberts inspired me to include pictures of the magazine covers.

I think my favorite writer web site of all is
Anna David’s.

If you’re a writer looking to put together a web site, I highly recommend my web designer friend
Brooke. She created the new page (along with my entire web site and this blog), and she’s the greatest.

Jenny,

I just wanted to say that I truly LOVE this format. Great idea. Very user friendly. Like seeing the media you published in, etc.

Hello Jenny, I'm in the US now with easy (free) access to high speed internet sooo, sooo I today finally got to listen to your golden voice on NPR - about spring with a twist. Oh that was clever. It definitely was with a twist. An Ohio girl are you? I'm one too! Fun to hear your take on the down-side of spring. Spring thaw is certainly not glamous. Usually my visa expires in March and that's a great time to be gone from Russia and thus to miss the slush and mush of spring over there.

Enjoyed hearing your story. It was attention-getting and definitely not stereotypically about spring!

Thanks. I'm hearing from some that it too cluttered so I'm still pondering ways to improve. It's a WIP like lots of other things on my writing desk!

I LOVE it... Very impressive... And it takes me directly to the core of your writing talent. Excellent work, by the way, with the clips.

I love it, too. I listened to your spring piece. It was wonderful. I also read your writing, and I noticed that you are way cool!

Loved the falling in love one and the dancing on your wedding day one, too.
