Simple Plans
What are we going to do for Valentine’s Day?
“Let’s build a fire,” I said. “Cuz we said we’d use the fireplace when we moved in, but haven’t touched it yet.”
“Yeah, and I’ll grill a steak,” Ron said.
“Oooh, and I’ll get cupcakes from Buzz*,” I said.
“And we can open the organic wine we were given for Christmas,” Ron said.
"And we can read each other poetry," I said. "Maybe passages from Solomon’s Song of Songs.
Beloved: Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth: for thy love is better than wine . . . . How handsome you are my lover!
Lover: Behold, thou art fair, my love. Thou hast doves’ eyes within thy locks: thy hair is as a flock of goats that appear from Mount Gilead. Thy teeth are like a flock of sheep.
"Your teeth are like sheep? Your hair like goats? If I said that to you, you'd clock me!" Ron said.
Well, maybe. But if we're reading poetry, it'll make me blush.
So come the 14th, it looks like we’re keeping things simple (and rather biblical) around here.
What’re your plans?

Sounds lovely.

I've been kicking around ideas for this Vag's Day. I always, ALWAYS deliver unique and special surprises for my special Valentine. And every year it gets tougher and tougher to be so charming. I can tell you about last years occasion. I always kinda hated the typical "nice dinner at a fancy restaurant" routine...blech. How unoriginal. So, I surpised Krysten in her dorm room with Champange, Fondue and our special maitre d', Momo Cash Flo The Bookie (Momo is a stuffed monkey I got for Krysten for Christmas.) First the Cheese course and champange and then the chocolate dessert...if you catch my drift;-) AHHHH, MEMORIES

I hate Valentine's Day, so I refuse to celebrate it. My husband loves me for this!

You gotta love a holiday that just so brazenly admits it's contrived.
Hope cupid is good to you.

I love a sweet Valentine's day - red construction paper and doilies... not the nighties and overpriced bouquets. Your evening sounds lovely.

You do now it's your brother...right?
5:23 PM
Of course I do silly!

Maybe you could have your brother over too! Sounds like he has some great ideas.

We keep it simple. David and I have breakfast with the girls, we all get 1 gift, home made cards. After school/work we just have a nice dinner and do a family night. I like it, mellow, together and just being with the ones you love. No arguing allowed.
Hope yours is special!
