Just the Two of Us
Ron left yesterday, so this morning I woke to . . . me.
(And God.)
Just the two of us for a few days.
I adore alone time (maybe too much, but that’s an issue for another day).
Now, I wait for stillness.
I watch.
Snow: wild and big and white.
Fire: yellow and warm and full of emotion.
The mountain air is clean and Mother Earth just keeps on giving and loving.
Somehow in some way I know this place will be special to others. Maybe I’ll hold writing workshops out here one day, or offer it for retreat, or fill it with a houseful of kids. Time will tell. I’m in no hurry.
Not here.
Not now.

In other news, I still haven’t thought of a name for the retreat, but Ron came up with a name for another part of it. The lagoon where the sewage drains? Affectionately dubbed “Lake Poop.”

Lake Poop? That'll get everyone to rush right out there!

Jenny, just reading that made me so serene! I, too, CHERISH my alone time. That is why I must work at home. When my son and husband are gone, the silence that ensues...and my meditation chair, just heaven, that's all. Some of us have more of a need I guess.
Your descriptions of the place where you are, are enchanting. I could just see that bobcat the other day.
I also think there is a need for a retreat, and for silence, to unplug from the techno world. I think its part of being truly balanced and healthy and a part of what is sorely missing for most in these times.
Love your posts.

Ahh, so your husband is a sentimental sweetie, too, huh?
Loved the flow of the solitude for you. Hope you continue to feel inspired.
