Blunder
Yesterday I discovered I'd made a writing blunder. Actually, blunders are more like it. I was making rice and beans for dinner and mentioned to Ron that I was so upset I wanted to cry.
He said, "Are you sure it's not the onion you're chopping?"
I was sure. I felt the frustration in my chest, not my eyes.
He slid his arms around me and tried to help me calm down. Today I was reading Walking on Water by Madeleine L'Engle and came across this quote by Chekov: "You must once and for all give up being worried about successes and failures. Don't let that concern you. It's your duty to go on working steadily day by day, quite quietly, to be prepared for mistakes, which are inevitable, and for failures. . . . The thought that I must, that I ought to, write, never leaves me for an instant."
And so today I continue to write.

Oh, you've discovered Madeleine! I love love love her non-fiction (the Crosswicks books in particular). She has such a great outlook on life, work, religion, etc. I just wish she was 40 years younger and lived across the road from me, but her books pretty much take me there anyway.

Seriously, wouldn't you just love to have her as a personal life mentor? Thank goodness for her books.

Hallelujah! (That's for continuing to write.) Chekhov says it all. How fortuitous to find that quote! Take care.

That's a great quote...I will remember it. So glad you will be keeping on with keeping on!

Well, we're human. We make mistakes, sometimes only once, sometimes a lot, but we pick ourselves up and move on.
You are so lucky to read good books. When and if I have time, I will be sure to find books you have mentioned.
I only have time for school textbooks and reading others' blogs. ;)

You know, this reminds me of that verse in the Bible that says we should turn everything over to God. It's hard to remember, but when we do, we are able to accept ourselves, and our mistakes, much easier.

Perfect timing.

Okay, I've got goosebumps. Did you know she just died? Like, today? Spooky!
Love the quote. Love that you have taken it into your spirit as a writer. Keep writing - it's definitely your calling, my dear.

I just came home and saw that in the news. I'm sad. But so grateful for her writing.

Whatever blunder you made I'm sure it was unintentioned. You are diligent. Everyone makes mistakes.
