Weekend Reading
The Colony?
or
Moloka'i?
Anyone read these? Which one? They both deal with the time period (late 1800s to mid-1900s) when the American and Hawaiian governments deported leprosy sufferers to Moloka'i.
I tend to opt for non-fiction (The Colony) but the historical fiction novel (Moloka'i) looks good too.
Or should I read the Kite Runner guy's new book instead?
Oh, who am I kidding? I'll probably read all three. What are you reading this weekend?

I'm not reading *anything* this weekend, but I'd *like* to be reading the three books circling...The Family Tree, the Time Traveler's Wife, and Last Child in the Woods.
Hey, btw, see you on the 21st! :)

I'm continuing the book The Power of One by Bryce Courtenay. It's a gripping novel about an extraordinary young boy growing up in South Africa during Hitler's rise to power. There's a movie about it (Morgan Freeman is in it, among others), but I'm discovering that the book is even better. I would definitley recommend it!

Can't wait to meet you Gift of Green! I've wanted to read The Last Child in the Woods for awhile.
All these books sound good, esp the Diary of Country Priest and the Power of One.
P.S. Amalia, I love morgan freeman!

I just started reading Jesus Land by Julia Scheeres. It is a memoir, but I just started reading it. A friend of mine also just gave me Mississippi Sissy by Kevin Sessums. I will have to add that to my list. My very long summer reading list, that keeps growing. The girls want to go to Barnes and Noble everyday for new books and it is so hard to restrain myself from buying new ones. So many I want! Happy reading!

Moloka'i - just finished it - very interesting! Very non-fictionish. Let me know what you think about the other two.
