Empty Newsstand
Did Harry Potter croak?
I’ve been navigating around hundreds of people at our little local bookstore trying to get my hands on the August issue of Northern Virginia magazine. Given the craze, the bookstore has been way too busy to stock their newsstand. I saw the boxes of magazines sitting on the floor and at one point even inquired about digging through publications myself, but nope. This morning I finally caved and drove to a big ol’ Barnes & Noble to buy it. Last spring I had a blast visiting family farms here in Virginia (this free-range meat farm and this sustainably-grown vegetable farm). My article “Livin’ La Vida Local” talks about the business of farming, old-school wisdom, and CSA subscriptions. In another life I seriously think I could’ve raised chickens. Fun fun.
Anyway, I haven’t read any of the Harry Potter books. I think I only want one go around with that series so I figured I’d wait until I have kids and read the books to them. But I am curious to know if Harry kicked the bucket.

No spoilers!!! :-)
I love, love, love Harry Potter! My mom said the Learned Owl in Hudson did a big event last night and all of Main Street was done up, kids in costumes, etc. You will love HP so don't spoil it for yourself by knowing the ending before you read it. They're for adults moreso than kids actually!
PS- How'd the acupuncturist go? I go twice a week to mine, and it's amazing how it works!!!
MISS YA! Looking forward to seeing you in LA soon!!!!!

I have only read the first one and I don't want to know because we'll eventually read them all.
If you find out, don't tell us. Put in a disclaimer if you write about it.

Shhh. I wanna read the last book before I hear anything about it. I read the first book last summer then I read the next five books back to back earlier this spring. That was nice, no waiting every two years or so until each book was released. I got lucky there. And I didn't really hear "spoilers", either. Shhh.
