Many Mouths to Feed
I have a girlfriend who has a husband, three kids, two cats, plants, and a fish. I remember asking her once if she was going to get her kids any other pets. Maybe a hamster? A bunny? A puppy? She said, "I spend all day feeding living creatures and then cleaning up their poop, I can't add one more to our family!"
Ron and I don't even have kids - yet we still struggle to feed ourselves, the plants, and our dog on any sort of a sane schedule. I blogged about it today over here: Remembering the Golden Rule.

It's summer now (well, obviously) and my kids' eating schedule is out of whack.
The neighbor kids come at all hours during the day. My youngest would come in and ask me if they could stay over to eat lunch. I don't mind once in a while, but not every day! (I insist that they ask their parents first, but one girl says she only eats supper-probably means a prepared supper and during the day it's all up for grabs). So while the kids are over to play, the eating schedule changes. Lunch is always anytime between 11 to 2. Supper is anytime between 5 and 8. Sigh. Yes, sometimes I forget to fed them. "Mom, I'm hungry. I didn't eat." I need a schedule, too. Too bad that the neighbor kids don't have a schedule. If everyone eats at the same time, it wouldn't be a problem. The kids just want to keep playing.
