Cute Cute Cute
I'm not a purse girl. Or a shoe girl. Or much of a girly-girl at all for that matter. But aren't these CUTE?A month or so ago, I came across these "recycled books" in Washington DC's Eastern Market (sidenote: sadly, Eastern Market burned in a fire on Monday. It was at night so the vendors were gone, but the loss of space is devastating. For more info visit SaveEasternMarket.org).
The Book Purses are designed by one of the vendors - a super creative woman named Caitlin Phillips. Visit her website Rebound-Designs.

I know what I want for my birthday!

How fun! But how to choose? Favorite title or best looking color combinations that match my clothes? What a great mother's day gift idea (for my husband to buy me, of course!).

They offer a class here at European Papers where you can make that exact purse -- you just bring in your book, and they supply the materials. Very literary.

Yes, cute purse, but Eastern Market burned???
What?
That is unbelieveable.

I know, it's really sad. But the community is rallying.

I love these purses! I saw them in Eastern Market, too, a couple of years ago. Cute purse AND perfect for lovers of literature! I def want one. And, each is an original... so cool!

Can they do one in a modified fanny-pack?
I am not much for accessories. I rarely take a purse around with me, except for shopping.
Now I got a fanny-pack so I can do a lot of walking/window shopping this summer. (It would help, because I "forget" my purse when I bring one with me to the campus or something. I have to run back and get my purse. Yes. Scary.
