House Guests

My parents are coming to visit next month for the cherry blossom festival:

Mom: Do you have whiffy?

Me: Wiffle ball?

Mom: You know. . . whiffy. . . for my computer.

Me: Oooohhh. WiFi. Yes, we have it.

Scary when one's parents get into the electronic age, isn't it? Do you suppose if you didn't have wifi she'd find a hotel instead ;-)

My dad belches in public, and every time I correct him, his reply is, "You know I got no coutts!"

Coutts? Coutts? Oh... COUTH. I get it.

I butcher the pronunciation of words all the time. Thankfully my husband can decipher what the heck I'm trying to say...

So cute--the photo and the story.

My mom says Fritos with a soft "t" as in "toes," and enunciates all four syllables of the word temperature--it drives me and my sisters crazy!
