Adorable (and Admirable)
Meet Adora. She’s seven years old. She has written over 300 short stories. She has a website. She has appeared on Good Morning America, and she reads 2-3 books a day. She blogs.
I wrote a book when I was seven. It was about a lady who had a piece of hair that stuck straight up and no matter what she did she couldn’t get it to behave. It was titled That Dumb Old Piece of Hair. I knew back then that I loved to write – but I didn’t allow myself to be real and pursue my passion until I was 31 years old.
Adora started writing at age three and a half. You gotta love that!

Wow! That was inspiring. If a nine-year old can write that much, what's my excuse?
Hope you are feeling good! :)

OMG! How cute! Riley is presently at the dining room table working on a book herself. She is "writing and illustrating." The title is, The Honest To Goodness Friendship.
She has asked for no help and so far the story line is quite dramatic!
I'll have to show her this website.
So glad you decided to "get real." So very glad!

When I was seven, I wanted to be a professional baton twirler, so i'll admit I'm glad I didn't have little Adora's determination. Good for her, though :)

I think you should still publish That Dumb Old Piece of Hair.
Or....it would be a good writing prompt. We'd surly get some interesting responses?

Wow, that kid has talent!! The first sentence of her latest blog cracked me up.
My first "book" was called "Winkitty Goes to the Eye Doctor." Not suprisingly, it never caught on.

What an inspiration! Unlike the rest of you, I never knew I wanted to write. I just started at 30 and haven't been able to stop.

I wrote one at 7 too, Jenny, about an old man stranded on an island. My mom helped me use cardboard and contact paper (what you use to line the kitchen cabinents!) to make a "real" cover. I wish I still knew where it was.
