Mission Not Accomplished

Me: Can I buy these slippers?

Hubby: For whom?

Me: Me.

Hubby: No! We’re Christmas shopping for others.

Hubby: Can I buy this computer for my bike?

Me: No!

Hubby: But it keeps track of distance, time, speed . . .

Me: We’re Christmas shopping for others. Wanna go in the bookstore and look for a gift for my mom?

Hubby: What are you doing in the memoir section?

Me: Um . . .

Hubby: Let’s go! But first let me show you this book on Arabs I want.

Hubby: Wanna go into the sporting goods store?

Me: Okay.

Me: Ooooo! Wigwam socks. They keep my feet soooo warm. My other pair has holes in the bottom so I should really just buy these.

Hubby: No. Hey, if you wanted to buy me a tennis racquet my grip is 4 3/8”.

Two hours later . . .

Gifts bought for others: big, fat zero
Gift ideas for ourselves: tons

Somehow, shopping with my wife is quite close to your situation, but the roles are reversed. I like to get in and out...she could browse all day.
I have not seen the movie The Secret. Is it something you recommend?

Gee, Jenny, I can't relate to that at all....Whatever do you mean?

(This is why I try to do my Xmas shopping for others on the Internet or by catalog - safer, much safer)

My favorite quote, "Hey, what are you doing in the memoir section?"

Pre-shopping is a vital part of the Christmas season! This his how your hubby will know you need new socks and a few items from the memoir section (along with some sparkly baubles) under the tree :)

I stick to a list and do most of my holiday shopping online. Boring, yes but I have to have a system or else I just end up, er, shopping for moi! But yeah it does help to drop those subtle hints for your hubby. Mine waits until Christmas Eve to shop. ;)

Thanks for visiting my blog!

Hello Charming Visitor :)
Jenny ~*~ it was so nice to meet you. I have done a little browsing and found you quite witty, adorable and a creative unique voice in writing. I could just wrap you up in a Christmas bow and put you under my tree (i would feed you, don't worry)

friendly smiles,
Darlene

I love this! I'm glad it happens to you, too. Maybe we should start out with a buying trip for ourselves, then follow up with a shopping trip for others - Kind of like going to the grocery when you are full, you don't buy a lot of unnecessary items.
