Hemingway
I'm blogging more frequently.
Trying to keep my posts shorter -- sometimes I'm so wordy.
Ernest Hemingway used to claim he could write a novel in 6 words. When challenged, he took out a piece of paper.

Jenny - I'm catching up after a very busy week so I'm going to comment on your last few blogs -
The short post - Very cool! This has inspired me to see how minimalism can work into blogging posts. OK, who am I kidding, this just sounds a good way to keep up with writing - keep it short!
Word - Loved this post. I'm one of those parents who hates the lazy talking. I've told my kids that I have a two fold problem with them swearing, one is that I feel like those words never encourage someone, the other is that it's a lazy way to express your anger and frustration. I love the whole concept of the power of a word but it can be frightening as well. I wrote a post a while back on just how meaning gets communicated through the written word when statistics say most "meaning" of what someone says is gained through the non-verbal signals that accompany the message. What does this say about those of us who are passionate about reading and writing? Do we feel a need to express meaning within the constraints of just the printed word or do we not want to commit to any one interpretation of "meaning" and so we offer it out there for others to try and figure out what we mean in what we say.
Well, this is getting too WORDY (ha) but also wanted to let you know I followed all your links and read all your articles and your new "Dear Jenny" column. Great work! Please make sure you always let us know when you have new work out there!
Take care!
